FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What type of technology does the iluminage Skin Smoothing Laser use and how does it work?
The Skin Smoothing laser uses fractional laser technology (also known as fraxal), helping the skin repair itself by delivering pulses of laser light below the surface of the skin.
It is within these sub layers, where collagen is produced, that the laser light triggers the body's natural response to generate new collagen. The new collagen helps tighten the skin from below, reducing wrinkles and delivering a healthy fresh appearance.
2. How often should I treat my skin?
We recommend treating your skin five times a week in the evening so any redness subsides overnight.
3. Does this device hurt?
It can cause a sensation, though you will get used to the sensation over time. We recommend to treat in the evening as you are likely to see redness in the treated areas over the first few weeks which subsides overnight.
4. I can feel tingling and itching after treatment, is this normal?
Yes, this is a reaction to the laser treatment and it is perfectly normal.
5. Why does the device turn off after 200 pulses?
This is a safety measure to stop users from over-treating the face.
