Get The Look: The Oscars Edition

The 2015 Academy Awards were full to the brim of dazzling celebrities looking their absolute best. We’ve picked our favourites so you can achieve the same look at home, whether you like the Aussie beauty look or the classic red head, we’ve got it covered.

Oscars The Rosamund

Our first pick has to be the English Rose (excuse the pun), Rosamund Pike, nominated for her role in last year’s extremely popular Gone Girl. Rosamund’s is probably the easiest look to recreate, as she kept it really natural on the red carpet. For her look all you’ll need is your favourite foundation, a neutral eye shadow palette, a light dusting of peach blush and nude lipstick. The key to her look is the glowing skin that shines through her make up. Achieve this by creating a strict skincare routine (like you would a diet or an exercise plan) and stick to it every day. This means drinking plenty of water and always taking your make up off at night. You can give your skin that extra boost by using a Skin Cleanser to make sure you’re ridding all impurities.

Oscars The Chrissy

As always, Chrissy Teigen, partner of Best Original Sing winner John Legend, looked stunning. She went for the feminine meets gothic look with black nail polish, deep wine lips and heavily lined eyes, contrasting with her elegantly highlighted and bronzed cheeks. Hair wise, soft, big waves like Chrissy’s can be achieved by using a wide barrel curler as opposed to a thinner device like straighteners or a wand. The deep plunge is also bang on trend – spot on Chrissy!

Oscars The Lupita

2014 winner Lupita Nyong’o, best known for her role in 12 Years A Slave, might not have scooped up an award this year, but she certainly wowed us on the red carpet. She really rocked the classic look, wearing a dress boasting 6,000 pearls. She kept her base make up subtle, but added pops of blue sparkle shadow around her eyes and highlighter to emphasise her perfectly shaped brows. Teaming the classic look with a more modern edge definitely made her a show stopper this year.

Oscars (3)

Oscars The Emma

Emma Stone was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Birdman. Unfortunately she didn’t win, but she still managed to steal the show thanks to her bold yet elegant look. Teaming her fair skin with orange lipstick and blushed cheeks definitely paid off, and her make up looked fantastic against her green dress. Like many celebs, she went for the slit dress to reveal her tones pins (hint, if you’re going to attempt this look, try out IPL hair removal for silky smooth legs).

Oscars (6)

Oscars The Margot

As always, Aussie beauty Margot Robbie, known for her role in The Wolf of Wall Street, killed it on the red carpet. Her pale complexion stood look gorgeous teamed with her bold red lipstick and sleek side swept hair. She kept everything else, nails, eyes and dress, simple to allow her luscious lips and natural beauty to stand out.

Oscars (5)

Oscars The Julianne

Last but by no means least is Julianne Moore, winner of the Best Actress Award for her role in Still Alice. Julianne kept her base make up to a minimum, opting for rosy blush cheeks over minimal coverage foundation. Her wine lips and heavy mascara really finished off the look, not to mention the clear, smooth skin underneath. For youthful skin like Julianne’s, microdermabrasion can really help. By removing the top layer of skin, it can reduce wrinkles and help with texture too.
