Best Compex product?

I am 50 years and compete competitively in orienteering (rough cross country running while map reading). Just before Christmas I had a knee arthroscopy with abrasive chondroplasty. Recovery is progressing well and I am now on a treatmill (30s run / 90s walk). What product would you recommend for rehabilitation and longer term performance?

by Robert Sweatman from Havant

I would suggest given that you compete and are looking to help performance moving forward the Compex MI sport is the most obvious choice as it covers all bases and is pretty much the best EMS device on the market for both club and elite athletes. The one alternative product I would recommend is the Kneehab IF your main concern is struggling to fire up the quads post op which can be notoriously hard. That said, this is specific to the quadriceps and given your desire to use the device on all muscles to help performance the Compex has far more functions and flexibility.

The truth of the compex range is that in the top end Fitness/Runner/Sport products there is little to chose between them and if price is an issue the slightly cheaper compex will still do a job for what you need.

The MI sport remains their flagship stimulator and our most popular device and is very desirable amongst athletes internationally and as such it also commands a good resale price if you ever decide you don’t need it and that’s also sometimes worth knowing!

Which Compex is better for Karate?

I am practicing Karate, and I need more muscle on shoulder, back, abdominal and legs. Also I am running a lot. I am wondering which I should choose between Compex Performance and Compex Runner.

by Masao from Japan

The Compex Performance is definitely the most suitable for you. The Compex Performance is perfect for sports training (it has a lot of programs) AND injury management (rehab programs).

Can you tell me the differences between the Runner, Fitness and Sport models

Hi, Can you tell me the differences between the Runner, Fitness and Sport models. I am making the transition from running 10K and Half Marathons to full Marathons at club level. I would like boost my endurance, core stability (I have slight imbalance in my running) and speed my recovery. Ideally I would like the device aid recovery after Alpine and Tour skiing. At my level am I going to benefit from the additional features in the sport and fitness models? Many thanks

by Matthew Rice from Milton Keynes

I would recommend the Compex Mi Sport over the Fitness and the Runner for you for the following reasons: Given what you're doing, you need something which can deal with the whole spectrum including: Building muscle strength, Building endurance, Recovery post run & Rehabilitation from niggly injuries. The Compex Mi Sport is the only one which has all of these programmes. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Can I train the muscles more with the Compex Runner than with voluntary training?

by Compex Runner FAQ

Yes. When you stimulate a muscle using a Compex Runner programme, there is no limit to the muscle work as a result of physical or cardiovascular fatigue. It is therefore possible to choose precise stimulation settings to work specific muscle areas more accurately and more effectively than is possible with classic voluntary training. The important thing is to increase the energy levels to ensure that as many muscle fibres as possible are stimulated.

Is it possible to carry out Compex sessions on the same days as voluntary training sessions?

by Compex Runner FAQ

Compex sessions can be carried out outside or during voluntary training. If you wish to do both types of training at the same time, we recommend that you start with voluntary training. In some cases, particularly for resistance work, it can be beneficial to start with a Compex session in order to generate a state of “pre-fatigue” in the muscle fibres.
